Found my lost green thumb ...

Well, as much as I was excited about my garden this year, it was appearing that my garden wasn't too, terribly, excited about me. That is ... until Silas and I discovered what had "happened" to our radish plants. You see, the radishes that we bought weren't the best this year. After pulling a few, much to our chagrin, they were puny ... at best. Today, however, we discovered (after googling) that the little seed pods at the top of the radish stalks were, indeed, edible. Wowzah! We have more of those than we do dog hair in this house. So, we'll be eating those Jessies until the cows come home.
We, actually, ate quite a few whilst picking them. Silas' comment; "Mama, this bean is spicy ... but, it's sooooo cool!"
I have a feeling that after I keep shoving them down his throat for 3 weeks he's not going to find them "cool" anymore.
The Swiss Chard ... all 3 stalks ... makes me think of a bad parody of a Viagra commercial.
The cabbage and tomatoes are doing well. Though, the tomatoes are taking FOREVER to ripen. My first red tomato was thrown in the trash, as some nimble little "night rodent" feasted upon it.
So, as fall comes home, the gardening season is wrapping up. Lots learned this year. Hopefully, next year, the season allows the veggies and fruits to grow more abundantly.
Until then ...
xoxo
Anna
